The Variant IDE is a web based , multi-tenanted development platform for building and deploying both API and workflow services. Its simple interface and common approach to tasks make it easy to grasp and develop new applications.

This section will first give an overview of all the pages that can be access through the menu options and then will do a deep dive of the service pages where each application is configured, developed and deployed.

This walkthrough assume you have administrator rights on your subscription. Variants security offers many different roles providing many differing access policies. If you don't see any pages that are in this documentation it probably means you don't have the right access role

Application section​

  • All Tests: Displays all current tests that have been run
  • Services: Handles the creation, development and deletion of services the Services group of pages where all services are created and developed.
  • Packages: Handles your organisations extension packages and service templates
  • Source control: Handles everything to do with source control in you application i.e. configuration, PATS commits, discards and pushing

Configuration section​

  • Environments: This section gives an overview of the environments section of the app
  • Subscription This section gives an overview of the subscription section of the app. It also gives a list of all the available user permissions and there access rights to the site
